Our Story

We are a small independent brand dedicated to creating safe, clean, and uniquely beautiful skincare and wellness products. Mandāra in Sanskrit and Telugu means the beautiful hibiscus, one of the sacred plants, and is an ode to the simplicity, beauty and power of natural products we experienced in India. Traditional formulations, tailored for modern living, infused with the same purity and quality.

Our daily routine products are rooted deeply in the ancient science of Ayurveda. Our tag line, “Earth Conscious Wellness”, forms the soul of our brand. Ayurveda has two main goals – protection of health in the healthy, and disease removal in diseased. The first goal of Ayurveda is the main driving force behind the birth of The Mandāra.

Based in USA, every product is carefully sourced from artisan groups in India, handcrafted with love and energized with mantras. Our strength lies in our ingredients. Our aesthetic draws inspiration from the textures and colors of the Indian subcontinent – from Sheesha work to Ajrakh to Bandhini – our ode to the handloom/handicraft art of India. Our wellness, skincare and beauty products are made in similar way – time taking, no shortcuts, elaborate, small-batch, unique and selective. You will not find preservatives or chemicals in our products – we use organic, natural, non-GMO ingredients, as we believe our customers only deserve the best for the trust, they have in us. We take pride to say that our products are safe for everybody.

We are committed in bringing the healing benefits of Ayurvedic magical herbs and botanicals to the world and change the way we approach daily care. It is no coincidence that the traditional skincare consists of edible safe components like turmeric, gram flour, hibiscus, etc.

We strive to make our brand as ethical and sustainable as possible, with almost all our packaging re-used, recycled, glass and paper wrapped- we used environment friendly packaging and offer the convenience of reusability for the most part. Every paper stock we used is recycled including our beautiful shipping boxes which are illustrated by our artist from Peru.
