About:

Get mesmerized by this smokey tea. Falap is an indigenous tea produced and consumed by the Singpu Tribes Bordering Assam & Arunachal Pradesh – even to date, they continue to process tea by first heating the leaves in a metal pan followed by sun drying for multiple days. To bring the smokey flavor our further, the sun-dried leaves are packed in bamboo tubes and smoked over fire, which is then prized and preserved. Like wine, the flavor matures with time and our Falap tea is above 4 years hence naturally riper.

In technical terms, Falap is the only known Pu’erh from India. It is a traditional homemade tea, where leaves are collected and dried in the sun or pan pried before pounding them into fresh bamboo stems. The stems are then sealed, and the tubed tea inside bamboos is smoked for months. This process may continue even years, further ripening the tea inside bamboo stems and imparting an intense smoky flavour. It is one of our favorite teas as the creamy nature of the milk tea version transports us to a different world!
